A summer village
Looking after a yard you're not always there to see
Hyannis Port is small, and much of it is seasonal. At the 2000 census, roughly three out of four homes in the village were counted as vacant, which tells you how many owners only spend part of the year here.
That's where regular care helps. Grass keeps growing whether you're around or not, hedges along the lane don't wait for your next visit, and a winter storm can leave branches all over the lawn. A mowing and trimming schedule through the summer, plus spring and fall cleanups on either side, means the house looks lived in even when it isn't.

Through the year
A simple plan for a Hyannis Port property
Spring, when the property is waking up after the winter.
Spring Cleanup
Winter debris, matted leaves and broken branches cleared out, so the lawn and beds start the season clean.
Mulch Installation
Fresh mulch in the beds just before the season starts is the quickest way to make a house look ready.
Hedge Trimming
A first shaping in late spring, so hedges and shrubs are neat by the time family and friends show up.
Summer mowing, all the way through to the fall cleanup.
Lawn Mowing
Regular cuts all summer, at a height that helps the grass handle heat and dry spells.
Weeding
Beds and walkways kept clear, so the weeds never get ahead of you in July.
Fall Cleanup
Leaves cleared before they mat down, so the lawn goes into winter healthy and comes back strong in spring.
Questions from owners
Hyannis Port, answered
Do I need to be home when you come?
Not usually. Lawn and landscaping work happens outside, so there's no need to be there. When you ask for a quote, just mention gates, irrigation heads or anything else we should watch out for.
Do Barnstable's fertilizer rules cover Hyannis Port?
They do. Hyannis Port is a village of Barnstable, so no fertilizer or compost can go down between November 12 and March 31, and phosphorus is only allowed when a recent soil test calls for it or a lawn is being established or repaired.
Can you handle snow removal in the winter?
Yes. Snow removal is part of our seasonal services, along with spring and fall cleanups. Mention it when you ask for your estimate.
