If a lawn seems to need more than that, a lack of fertilizer is rarely the real problem. Mowing too short, thatch and compacted soil are far more common culprits.

About Centerville, MA
Centerville is one of the seven villages that make up the town of Barnstable, on the south side of town. Its original name was Chequaquet, usually translated as “pleasant harbor,” and the village covers about 8.8 square miles.
It has a lot packed into that space. The Craigville neighborhood and Craigville Beach sit along the shore, the Centerville Historical Museum keeps the village's story, and the 1856 Country Store is a landmark in its own right. The composer Amy Beach spent her summers here in the 1920s and 1930s, and Eunice Kennedy Shriver and Sargent Shriver are buried at St. Francis Xavier cemetery.
