Five villages, two coastlines
Bay side, Sound side and everything in between
Dennis reaches all the way across the Cape. The north side faces Cape Cod Bay around Sesuit Harbor, the south side runs along Nantucket Sound, and the Bass River marks the town line with Yarmouth to the west. Scargo Lake, a kettle pond left behind by the glaciers, is one of the prettiest spots in town.
That range shows up in the yards. A property looking out over the bay, a lot a few streets from the beaches on the Sound and a shady yard inland all dry out, drain and grow at different rates. We look at what's actually going on at your place before suggesting a schedule.

Dennis lawn care by season
What your yard needs, and when
From the first green-up through the long, dry weeks of July and August.
Spring Cleanups
Leaves, branches and winter debris cleared out of the lawn and beds so everything can start growing again.
Lawn Mowing
Regular mowing through the growing season, kept a little higher once the summer heat arrives so the grass holds up.
Mulch Installation
A fresh layer in the beds that locks in moisture before the dry spells and keeps weeds from getting started.
Putting the property to bed, then keeping it safe once the snow comes.
Fall Cleanup and Leaf Removal
Leaves cleared before they mat down on the lawn, which is one of the best things you can do for next spring's grass.
Hedge and Shrub Pruning
A last trim in late summer or early fall, early enough that any new growth can harden off before the cold.
Snow Removal
Driveways and walkways cleared through the winter, for homes and businesses.
A little history
Salt works, shipyards and a summer theater
Dennis has always made the most of what was close at hand. In the 1700s, Captain John Sears began making salt from seawater here, and the town's salt works carried on until 1888. The Shiverick Shipyard built ships through much of the 1800s before it closed in the 1860s.
Then the visitors came. Scargo Tower went up in 1902, and the Cape Playhouse opened in 1927, making it the oldest summer theater in the country. Today about 14,700 people live in Dennis, and the population climbs to around 63,000 in summer, which is one more reason owners want the yard looking its best by June.

About Dennis, MA
Dennis was settled in 1639 and incorporated as a town in 1793. It's made up of five villages: Dennis, which includes North Dennis, plus Dennis Port, East Dennis, South Dennis and West Dennis.
The town runs from Cape Cod Bay on the north to Nantucket Sound on the south, with Sesuit Harbor on the bay side and West Dennis Harbor on the Sound. The Bass River forms its western edge, and from 1855 to 1914 the West Dennis Light helped guide boats in from the Sound. Add Scargo Lake, Scargo Tower and the Cape Playhouse, and there's a lot of Cape Cod packed into one town.
